Although photo booths are not a complete novelty because they have been accompanying us at various events for several years, the market is still in high demand for this type of services. Weddings, concerts, corporate events are just examples of where photo machines appear. Over time, new devices are created, which are easier to stand out from the competition. The best example is season`s 2018/2019 hit – Mirror Photobooth  (also known as Magic Mirror or Mirror Selfie), which looks nothing like photo booths we knew form the past. Although it makes and prints photos like the regular photo booth, it also stands out with its elegance and  the sign photos feature.

When preparing a business plan, it is worth knowing the specific numbers with which we will have to face. Let's move to the point of cost and summary of potential rental income. For the calculations we will use Mirror Photobooth because even though it is more expensive than the standard photo booth, we think that the difference in the purchase will pay back in the form of a larger number of orders due to the fact that it is new and the competition is much smaller.

The only cost per event, beside  our time and gas, will be photographic paper.. We do not need any ink or toners, only the paper sold in a set with foil, price: about 160€  for 2 rolls, which will be enough for a total of 1400 photos 10x15cm or 2800 stripes 5x15cm.

How easy it is to calculate the cost of one photo is less than 0,12€ . From our experience, that despite the capacity of the printer at the level of 4 photos per minute (printing a single photo in size 10x15cm according to the manufacturer lasts 12.4 seconds) the useage of a regular photo booth is 40-50 photos per hour, and Mirror Booth 30-40 photos per hour . These numbers are depend offcors by the number of shots on the printouts, the countdown time set between the shots and, in the case of Mirror Selfie, the signing of the pictures on the mirror's surface.

To sum up, the cost of paper per hour varies between 3€  and 4€

The rental prices for ordinary photo booths start at 300€ for 2 hours and Mirror Photobooth, depending on the region, we can get up to 350 €  for the first two hours and 50€ for each additional hour.

This means that the income from one wedding during which rental lasts an average of 3 hours is even 391€, and at a company event lasting an average of 6 hours the profit is 532€. Worth noting is that weddings usually take place on Fridays or Saturdays, while corporate events or advertising campaigns usually take place during the week.

Of course, as with any business, we have to remember about the other costs: of launching the website - about 1000€ in the simplest version or paid advertising campaigns - depending on the budget. The costs are bigger at the beginning when we have to build our brand and customers' trust, but they decrease with time when our marketing starts working.

It is also worth noting that the business of the photo booth is scalable, which means that when there are more orders You will have no a problem to handle them all - just buy another device and hire someone to help.

There are many ways of financing. Some labor Offices offer grants. Especially from UE programms. Another way is  Leasing - You would pay a small monthly fee for the device.
